Lanterns, Lombok and My New Home!

Thursday, April 25, 2013

It has to be said, I have an addiction to a passion for lanterns! They are such a useful decorating accessory and of course come into their own when candles are lit in the evening. This is the latest in my collection, a beautiful and romantically named 'Seta windlight' from one of my favourite shops Lombok! With the new ethnic vibe appearing in home interiors, Lombok is my first stop for eastern inspired, hand crafted furniture and accessories. From the idyllic Indonesian island of the same name, they bring chic pared down, rustic pieces each infused with a contemporary twist. This season sees carved powder stone accessories; heavenly water hyacinth storage baskets and of course a whole collection of lanterns and wind lights to transport your home to far off exotic shores - SUBLIME!!! In November of last year (2012) we sold our old farmhouse and moved to a brand new house (more pictures/details to follow!) and we are having great fun unpacking and decorating! Here are a few photo's of our home and of course my new lantern.
