Bistro Kitchen

Thursday, September 5, 2013

Stylish, chic with a utilitarian charm the relaxed 'bistro' inspired kitchen. Bring the vibrant cafe culture to your own home with delicatessen graphics, utility cookware and no fuss linens.. Colour palette: chalkboard black, cappuccino and latte, stainless steel grey, herb green and milk white. Cook, eat, relax and enjoy! (This is a long post so it may take some time to load!)

The colour swatches shown above I create as a suggestion for furnishings, carpets, ornaments, fixtures, fittings and paints. They do not come from manufacturers charts but I am sure that if you want to use them for paint colours that your favourite supplier will be happy to help match them.

As always, if I have featured your photograph and you would rather I didn't, please do not hesitate to contact me and I will remove it with my sincerest apologies.

Contemporary Country Colours

Thursday, July 26, 2012

Fresh, clean earth tints form a soothing colour palette for today's country living. Shades of Clay, Slate, French grey, Shutter Blue, Mulberry, Damson, Willow leaf and Gooseberry green set against chalky white add a contemporary twist to traditional country styling. Modern material such a stainless steel and aluminium contrast against the natural elements of pale stone and bleached wood. Here are a few of my most recent finds starting with the heart of the country home - the kitchen.

Rustic White

Thursday, March 15, 2012

Rustic white interiors, breezy, relaxed and inviting; combining brocante finds with a contemporary pared-down look. Soft rustic textures with pretty faded florals, washed vintage linens and crisp white cottons. Wood adds warmth, be it natural or painted and rural industrial elements contrast perfectly with the softness of cottage fabrics. The finished look is fresh, practical and very, very comfortable.
